Best Valentine Dinner - EVER!!!!

Saturday morning I found a card on the table inviting me to a fancy French restaurant for a 6-course dinner. The invitation was in French (with English subtitles). I was so excited because the dinner was at my own home, with the people I love most all working together to pull it off. Kevin and the kids worked hard and executed their plan perfectly!

At 6:15, my date picked me up from my bedroom, where I had been locked away for a couple of hours. I was escorted downstairs to a candlelit dinner, and was waited on by 3 of the most amazing workers. We were all dressed in our best dress, and the kids were so formal. I think they learned a lot when we were on our cruise.

We started off with the bread basked full of hot whole wheat rolls. Then they brought down a gift. Kevin got me an IPOD! It's purple - my favorite color. He had loaded songs on it for our background music. Many of the songs were songs from our wedding CD.

Our next course was cottage cheese and pears. The kids were doing their job upstairs to perfection working on the presentation of this incredible meal. I'm still amazed by them. Then we had shrimp cocktail - just like it's served at the restaurants. Then came the beautiful salad followed by an amazing main course; halibut steak cooked in lemon with garlic couscous. They even had the couscous in a fance shape. I wish I would have taken a picture of that plate. The dessert was frozen yogurt with girardelli chocolate for the accent.

They even snuck over to grandma Pam's and found her crystal that she got for her wedding, and served a sparkling cider. Wow! What an incredible night my family prepared for me. They were so excited to do this. They were perfect on their timings of checking our water, removing empty dishes, and bringing each course.

Even today, thinking back, I still can't believe how well they worked together to make everthing so perfect. Thanks, Kevin, for making this such an amazing Valentine's Day!! He reminded me that he had one other great Valentine's Day - when we were engaged. I guess if he does this once every 15 years, I can live with it. It truly was amazing!
Three lucky hearts full of love!

Pictures with our servers. Can you see that fancy couscous?! The presentation of everything was amazing. Not as amazing, though, as when Kevin and I went upstairs after dinner, and the kitchen was absolutely spotless! I swear that is the truth! My family is amazing.
