As many of you know, it was a rainy, miserable Memorial Day. No picnics for us. Kevin, Avery, Colt and Jon headed to Logan that morning to see the new Indiana Jones movie. Reports of the movie were very good. I'm looking forward to seeing it myself.
I was staying home trying to get my house cleaned up a little, since I haven't been home in forever to do the every day things that keeps a house livable. I was enjoying the quiet working time (Erin and Taylor were at Stef's) when mom called and told me dad was having chest pains and they were headed to the hospital. I was pretty scared and was dangerously trying to call brothers and sisters as I was driving way too fast to the hospital.
When I got there with Stef, James was there with mom. We could tell that dad was a little bit scared. He wasn't acting quite himself. They did bloodwork and stuff then decided to send him down to the McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden. Most of us headed that way to double check and make sure things were o.k. for the moment. They scheduled an angiogram for Tuesday afternoon. Stef and I headed down today to be with mom while that was going on. After that, dad seemed to be doing pretty well.
We did find out that he had a slight heart attack, but that the bypasses that they fixed during heart surgery 6 years ago looked really good, so they aren't sure where the problem is right now. They will keep him in the hospital until probably Thursday to make sure there isn't any more pain, and his blood pressure stays down. Then next week, they want to see him again to have a stress test done.
I can't believe this is happening to my daddy! This only happens to grandpas! I'm very relieved to know that his bypass surgery is still doing what it was supposed to do. I love him so much, and we still need him around for a long time.
Other stuff has been going on too. But I don't have time to post that right now. We are giving Rachel a bridal shower on Thursday, so that is a happier note. And also Taylor is getting baptized on Saturday. So daddy has to be home and here for that. Let's all keep our fingers crossed!

I hope everything turns out OK with your dad! Sounds like there was a little inspiration involved in staying home...it is hard to watch our parents start having health problems. Hope your day is a good one this Saturday!
It was very scary to see grandpa on that hospital bed. I am glad that he is being taken care of though, he will be just fine now that we kind of know what's going on.
I am so glad that day is over. I'm also glad that Dad is doing so much better. I'm too young to not have a Daddy so he'd better shape up and stick it out. He's a tough cookie so I'm sure he'll be doing ok. Thanks for coming to Ogden with me, I'm glad we were there for mom. More to come, I'm sure. =) Love ya tons!!
