Lamb Show

I know the Box Elder County fair was a few weeks ago, but I'm finally getting around to posting again. It was a very busy week filled with fun, food and family. Jennifer and her kids came up one day, and Les and her kids came up on Wednesday for the parade. I wish the fair wasn't RIGHT before school starts, I feel like I need a few days to rest before heading off to school.

Taylor "showed" a lamb again this year. It's her last year in the fun stage. Next year I think all the kids will be showing a lamb for cash. Anyway, Taylor was dressed as a tortiouse and the lamb was the hare. Taylor was a little worried at first - she said "what if the judges have never heard of The Tortiouse and the Hare?" I assured her that they probably knew the story. She said that if they didn't, she would explain it to them.

Again, a big thanks goes to our good friend, Greg Madsen. He always picks a good lamb for Taylor to use, and transports it to the fair and does all the hard work. He knows to call us about a week before the fair to see if Taylor wants to do it. He knows that I'm not on the ball enough to prepare before that time. He's the greatest!

Thanks DeAnna and Angie for helping with costume "adjustments"!!

Here they are after winning a blue ribbon and a little bit of cash.

It is amazing to me how much Taylor has taken to doing this. She has LOVED it so much! And she does such a great job taking care of and controlling her lamb.
Avery and Erin decided that they wanted to hang with friends at the fair one night. Are they really old enough for that?!!?? Well, they made a plan with their friends, and were given a time and a meeting spot for pickup that night and a cell phone. It ended up that they hung out together (with their friends) all evening. I was excited that they were willing to share their night of freedom with each other. When I pulled up to the pickup spot (5 minutes early, of course) they were there together waiting for me. I love to see that they are responsible enough to do what we agreed on. It helps get that trust going. I know we are all going to need it!

TAYLOR YOU LOOK SO CUTE!!
GOOD FOR AVERY AND ERIN. IT MAKES IT EASY TO LET THEM DO WHAT THEY WANT TO DO DOESN'T IT?

I love the fair! The peewee show is one of my all time favorites! I don't think people would believe it if they didn't see it! Cute Idea!

Good job Taylor!! You look cute, sorry I missed the show. Baby Emma... you know. I can't believe how long ago that seems. *sniff, sniff* It's almost as if baby Emma is so much older now.

Taylor looks so grown up in these pictures, even with the Tortoise shell on her back. She did such a great job and I'm so proud of her. Love you - Taylor. Grandma Pam
